The God Visit - Incarnation

Isa 9:6  For a child is born unto us, a son is given unto us; and the government is upon his shoulder; and his name is called Pele-joez-el-gibbor-Abi-ad-sar-shalom;  (JPS)

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (KJV)

We need a revelation of God.

Isaiah reveals that He is going to visit the earth! (cp. Presidential visit, Papal visit?)

One of the great purposes God had in giving His Word is to help us to see Who He is.

JesusÕ titles give us a glimpse into His earth visit, Nature and Plan.

1-   ÒWonderfulÓ – marvel, wonder – extraordinary – Incomprehendible. (BIG)

11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? Ex. 15:11 (KJV)

1.     Jesus is marvelous in Who He is.

1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Jn 1:1-3 (KJV)

2.     Jesus is wonderful in Who He became.

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. Jn 1:14 (KJV)

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Phil 2:5-8 (KJV)

2-  ÒCounselorÓ – to conspire, devise a plan, enlightener – Comprehendible

3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Col 2:3

3-  ÒMighty GodÓ – powerful, able, capable – He is Able!

8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Ps 24:8

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, Eph 3:20-21 (NIV)    Òsuperabundantly above the greatest abundanceÓ

4- ÒEverlasting FatherÓ – perpetual, eternal – Adoption (Father of the future)

Jn 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Gal 3:26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

5-  ÒPrince of PeaceÓ – captain, chief (of) tranquility, prosperity – Me Whole!!!

I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety. PSA 4:8

I will listen to what God the LORD will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints--but let them not return to folly. PSA 85:8

But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. ISA 53:5

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you. ISA 54:10

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ROM 5:1

Mt 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. (KJV)
